Selvapiana Chianti Rufina 2024

Fine Sangiovese. Red fruit. Savoury line.

The Giuntini family has owned Selvapiana in Chianti Rufina since 1827. Federico Giuntini Masseti and Silvia now run the estate, with Federico’s son Niccolò leading the cellar. The vineyards are organically farmed on the foothills of the Apennines, where cooler nights help preserve Sangiovese’s acidity and fine structure.

Sour cherry, redcurrant and dried herbs with violet, tobacco and a little earthy spice. Medium-bodied and savoury, with bright acidity and fine, chalky tannins giving the wine shape, freshness and a distinctly Rufina feel.

Perfect with bistecca, tomato pasta, roast chicken.
