Stoke Wines is the label of Nick and Bec Dugmore, who swapped a surf road trip for a life on Kangaroo Island in 2008 and never left. After a decade and close to 100 different wines, they landed on Cabernet Sauvignon as the island’s calling card, grown on the CW44 clone at their Cassini Vineyard.

The island’s cool maritime climate gives a long, slow ripening window, letting the fruit hang for flavour while keeping natural acid intact. Hand-picked as whole berries, fermented on native yeast with four pump-overs, then pressed dry and aged in second-use French oak. Blackcurrant, cedar and dried herb, medium-to-full bodied with firm, structured tannins.

Built for a proper steak, aged cheese or anything that needs a wine with backbone.
